Who we are
Precision Property Services is a locally owned snow removal and property care business in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you do business with us, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which applies to private businesses in Manitoba.
The short version: we collect what we need to quote and do your job, we use it for that, we never sell it, and you can ask to see or delete it at any time.
What we collect
| When | What we collect |
|---|---|
| You request a quote on this website | The service you want, your property address, your name and your phone number. |
| You call, text or email us | Your phone number or email address and anything you tell us in the conversation, such as details or photos of your property. |
| You become a customer | Service address, contact details, the work we do, visit dates, job notes and photos, quotes, invoices and payment records. |
| You visit this website | Standard technical information your browser sends, such as IP address, browser type and the pages you view. Our website host keeps this in server logs for security and troubleshooting. |
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send us, sensitive information such as health details or government ID numbers.
How we use it
- To check whether your property is on our service route.
- To prepare and send your quote, and to follow up on it.
- To schedule and carry out the work, including snow removal visits under your contract.
- To invoice you and collect payment.
- To answer your questions and resolve any problem with our work.
- To keep records we're required to keep for tax and accounting.
- To keep this website secure and working.
We don't use your information for anything unrelated to these purposes without asking you first.
Your consent, and how we contact you
When you send a quote request, call, text or email us, you agree that we can use the details you gave us to respond to that request. That includes calling, texting or emailing you about your quote and your service.
We only send promotional messages, such as seasonal reminders or offers, if you've agreed to receive them or where Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) otherwise allows it. Every promotional email or text tells you how to stop them, and we'll honour that request within 10 business days.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. If you do, we may not be able to provide some services, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Jobber, the software we use for quote requests, scheduling, quotes, invoices and client records. Jobber stores this information on Amazon Web Services.
- Payment processing, when you pay an invoice online. Card details go directly to the payment processor and are not stored by us. Payments are processed through Jobber Payments.
- Our website host, which serves this website and keeps its server logs.
- Google Fonts, which provides the fonts on this website. Your browser connects to Google to load them, which shares your IP address with Google.
- Google Analytics, which measures how visitors use this website. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
- Google Maps, which shows our listing on the Contact page. Loading the map connects your browser to Google, which may set its own cookies.
- Our accountant or bookkeeper, for tax and financial records.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order.
Storage outside Canada
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it's there, it is protected by contract and by the provider's security measures, but it can be subject to the laws of that country, including access by courts and government authorities.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last and roughly where visitors are located. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information like your device type, browser and a randomly generated identifier. We use this information only to improve the website, and we do not use it to identify you personally. This website does not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google's use of this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Links to Jobber (for example, the client login) and to our Facebook, Instagram and Google pages take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests that don't become jobs: up to 1 year, so we can follow up on future seasons, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Customer and job records, invoices and payment records: as long as you're a customer, plus the period required for tax records (generally 6 years in Canada).
When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We keep client records in password-protected business software rather than on paper or personal devices. Only people who need the information to do the job can see it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
If a breach of our security creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as soon as feasible, as PIPEDA requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we've used it.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law (for example, invoices).
- Stop sending you promotional messages.
Send your request to our Privacy Officer below. We'll respond within 30 days, at no cost to you. We may need to confirm your identity first.
Children
Our services are for property owners and managers. This website is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
